Tim Harrington grew up in Dunwoody, Georgia, and graduated from Dunwoody High School in 1993.  In 2014, Tim left a comfortable life in the U.S. and traveled to Tanzania, working with various groups improve the lives of children.  He lived in the villages of Tanzania, and truly connected with the people there as he helped build schools and improve their aqueduct system.  Unfortunately, we lost Tim in July of 2015 to complications related to malaria.

Soon after his death a school was built in his honor in Arusha, Tanzania, and was named “The School of Tim Harrington.”  The School of Tim HarringtonThis school is only available to the most underprivileged children in the area.  Soon after opening the classrooms, the teachers realized that a dormitory was absolutely necessary for the health and safety of the students.  The dormitory, named "Tim's Dawg House" after Tim's passion for the University of Georgia's football team, is housing many of the school’s students.

Tim's legacy is alive and thriving in the hearts of the students at the School of Tim Harrington, as they now have access to an education, healthcare, healthy food and positive adult role models.

Tim’s friends and family have been working to fund this school, and are in the process of establishing a 501c3 nonprofit.  In the meantime, we have been wiring frequent donations from people who knew and loved Tim, as well as people who have just learned about the school and are touched by it’s frequent postings on Facebook.  The school is run by Tim’s “brother,” Yesaya Wilfredy.  Yesaya does an amazing job meeting the needs of these children, and keeping the Facebook page up to date.  He posts pictures almost daily of the children, often with signs thanking donors and sponsors.  Please visit their Facebook page HERE.
Currently, we are hosting an online fundraiser HERE.

We are very excited to be partnering with Mellow Mushroom Pizza and Dunwoody High School to host a fundraising event from 5-9 on September 22, at the Mellow Mushroom in Dunwoody.  If you dine in and mention Tim to your server, the school will receive 15% of your bill.  We are hoping to make what would be Tim’s 42nd birthday a successful night to benefit his school.
