Octonauts Deep Sea Volcano Adventure

By Amy Lucas December 1, 2016
The Octonauts brought a new adventure to the Cobb Energy Center, complete with new songs, new recruits (the audience), but, the same lovable characters that the fans know and love.   There are even some cameos of some of our favorite sea creatures from previous episodes from the Midnight Zone.

This is the first live action Octonauts show, and the kids loved it.  They really got the audience involved by training them how the drive the Gup X and the Octopod.

Like the TV show, this is for the younger children, however, unlike the show, it seemed to me missing the educational factor that my kids love so much.  A favorite part of the television show that was missing for us, was the creature report, which shows the actual animal moving and living in their environment.

The story line was more of an adventure tale rather then an educational one.  This did not take away from the kids enjoyment of the production.  The costumes were spot on to the tv show, and the set was larger then life, and colorful.    The use of blacklight and puppetry for the midnight zone portion of the show, was very impressive.

For those who have not visited the Cobb Energy Center, you are really missing out.  The staff was welcoming, friendly and very helpful.  They provide booster seats for the younger children, even though the seating is done in a raked/stadium seating set up. This helped give the younger children an even better view of their favorite characters.
