Atlanta Track Club has announced a new scholarship competition for the 2014 Peachtree Jr. Three group scholarships will be awarded on behalf of Atlanta Track Club’s Kilometer Kids youth running program and Sports Authority. The 17th Annual Peachtree Jr. will be held on Saturday, May 17 at Piedmont Park.

The Peachtree Jr. Participant Challenge will award scholarships to the three organizations that have the most kids register for either the Peachtree Jr. or Lil’ Peach Dash. Participants must pre-register and include the name of the school or youth running club to be eligible for the contest. The Peachtree Jr. is a 3K event for ages 7 to 12, while the Lil’ Peach Dash is a 50M dash for children 6 and younger. The family-friendly event allows kids to experience the fun of the AJC Peachtree Road Race in a safe and non-competitive environment.

“Through the Peachtree Jr. Participant Challenge, we are able to give back to organizations that share our goal of inspiring children to be healthier and more active,” said Rich Kenah, Atlanta Track Club’s executive director. “Atlanta Track Club is proud to partner with Sports Authority to offer these scholarships to provide extra motivation to keep kids moving.”

The 2014 Peachtree Jr. Participant Challenge scholarships amounts are:
