Vanderlyn Elementary School, will host its annual VanderDash on Saturday, March 21, with the 5K starting promptly at 7:30am, and the 1 Mile Fun Fun at 8:30am at the school (1877 Vanderlyn Drive).  As one of the PTA’s largest annual fundraisers, VanderDash consistently generates more than 1,000 participants and raises more than $15,000—all directly benefiting students.

“VanderDash exemplifies all that’s wonderful about our community.  It’s an active and healthy way to bring together neighborhood families and local businesses dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in academics and behavior,” said Tracey Crenshaw, Vanderlyn’s principal.  “Our students experience VanderDash’s positive outcomes from the community’s collective support.”

After the race, sponsors will offer complimentary refreshments, including fruit, bagels, and water, followed by the Award Presentation at 9:00am.  Throughout the day, Yogli-Mogli (2090 Dunwoody Club Dr.) will host Spirit Day for VanderDash families, with 20% of that day’s proceeds going to Vanderlyn.

“Vanderlyn is a special place and,as a community, we continue to create fantastic opportunities for the students by participating in incredibly fun programs like VanderDash,” said Leslie Frohman, co-chair of VanderDash.

Participants can purchase advanced non-refundable tickets for $18 before March 1, 2015.   Race packet pick up day on March 19, 2015, $21 March 1, 2015 and after, $25 race day registration, by visiting HERE or at the registration table the morning of the event.  Parents, teachers, administration, neighbors, friends and children of all ages are welcome, including those in strollers.  Bikes, scooters and pets are not allowed for safety and allergy-related reasons.
