SunTrust Park, not just for baseball

By Eric and Diana Cole April 13, 2017

SunTrust Park offers great family fun for both a ball game and amenities. In addition to watching the Braves play, family and friends can enjoy great restaurants, shops, and theater at the Battery. Inside the ballpark has great seats regardless of where you are located and there are plenty of concession stands to enjoy food and drink.

The Hope and Will’s Sandlot is a kid friendly area. It has the first ever zip line and climbing tower built inside a major sporting venue. There are also batting cages, pitching simulator, running for speed, and other interactive games. Also in the Hope and Will’s Sandlot, there is a merchandise store as well as kid-friendly food options. You do need tokens to play in the sandlot, games range from $2 to $5.

Another awesome thing about SunTrust Park is the Mizuno Glove program (located by the left field gate and Chop House Gate on terrace level). This is a first of its kind. Here you can borrow a glove to catch balls at no cost. You just need to return them at the end of the game, where you can purchase it if you choose.

Loving history, in the corridor behind home plate, there's a monument garden to honor all the great Braves. This includes a statue of Hank Aaron honoring his 755 home runs. There are artifacts and memorabilia reflecting the Braves through history.

SunTrust Park can be looked at as an Avalon or Atlantic Station with a ballpark. In addition to the restaurants, shops, and theater, there is a hotel being built along with available apartments and Comcast Central Division Headquarters is under construction that will occupy many of its employees starting in October. So if you want to have a fun outing with family and friends, SunTrust Park is definitely the place to visit for a ball game along with many other great amenities.

SunTrust Park is located at 755 Battery Avenue Southeast, Atlanta, GA 30339.

My family and I were given complimentary tickets to the UGA game for this review.  My opinions are my own.
