Stone Mountain Park Laser Show 2.0

By Diana Cole, Editor, Owner, Publisher Sandy Springs Dunwoody Macaroni Kid June 22, 2017

One of my favorite places to go in Atlanta is Stone Mountain Park. Last week I was invited to attend Stone Mountain Park to see the Laser Show and play all day there. My opinions are my own.

You are going to ask, Diana I know you are in a boot due to your broken ankle, how did you get around Stone Mountain Park? You can rent an electronic controlled vehicle (ECV's). They are available for rent at the Adventure Center with a valid state or federal identification. A credit card is required for wheelchair rentals. Wheelchair, ECV, and stroller quantities are limited and subject to availability. The fee was about $36. What was nice is that if your ECV ran out of batteries, you could go to any store and they would deliver you a new one. What was even nicer, was that the ECV had two USB ports, so you could charge your phone. = )

So, after getting my ECV, we were off to play mini-golf. There was a handicapped accessible area so I could play. I wound up hanging in the Marketplace in the air conditioning after a few holes.

We then went to the Dinosaur exhibit. If you haven’t had a chance to visit it, I would highly recommend. You can see my review from March 2017 HERE.  To update the Review: My 13-year-old son loved it.

Afterwards, we went to the Sky hike and Geyser Towers. Please wear closed toe shoes on both. I also bring dry clothes for the kids to change into afterward.

My friend went on the scenic railroad. They incorporated the Dinosaur theme into train ride. She absolutely loved it.

Our favorite though is the Laser Show. “The Lasershow feature lights, iconic music, lasers, epic fireworks, and jaw-dropping fire effects. Three flame cannons add a punch to the show by sending a trio of flames nearly one-hundred feet into the air.” There are so many changes this year, but don’t worry all your favorites are still there. Stone Mountain Park always provides Terrace seating to me and this year I was so extremely grateful. Prices start at $26.95 for the terrace.  It includes with popcorn and a drink.

I had no trouble getting around the park in the ECV and even though I was in pain by the end of the night, it was worth seeing my kids smile and the memories they made.

You can purchase Stone Mountain Park tickets HERE.  I do recommend purchasing the Adventure Pass Meal Deal.

Please check the calendar for dates and hours of operation prior to your visit.
