5 Clever Ideas for Halloween Candy

Halloween Candy Buy Back Program plus FOUR other solutions

October 29, 2019

Thanks to the numerous trick-or-treating events around town and the generosity of my neighbors, my kids end up with LOADS of candy on Halloween. As fun as it is to collect as many treats as possible, it's more candy than any of us could ever eat.

What can you do with all that candy

1. Repurpose your candy.

Turn your chocolate loot into "Day After Halloween" brownies. Though not entirely eliminating the sugar-rush, repurposing your chocolates for a decadent dessert is fun and tasty.

2. Countdown with your candy.

Let your candy take you straight into the next holiday! Savor your candies by opening one per day leading up to "Turkey Day" by creating your own Thanksgiving countdown.

3. Build with your candy.

Plan ahead. Christmas is just a few quick weeks away from Halloween, so hang on to candies that won't spoil. Hard candies can help you spruce up your gingerbread house creations.

4. Switch your candy.

Trade your candy for a different treat. Halloween night, after the children have drifted off to sleep, the Switch Witch visits and collects the candy left for her by the children and switches it out with a toy!

5. Donate your candy.

Turn your candy in at a local participating Halloween Buy Back Program location. Buy-Back participants buy back kids' Halloween candy at a scheduled event with cash, xylitol products, coupons, toothbrushes, or other creative exchanges. Candy gets send to our Troops and Veterans via Operation Shoebox.
