Super Businesses in Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Chamblee, and Doraville

By Diana Friedman Cole, Owner Publisher Editor Sandy Springs Dunwoody Macaroni Kid May 7, 2020

It's no secret that with the regulations we currently have to follow, small businesses all across our country are struggling. We appreciate the small businesses here in Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Chamblee, and Doraville who continue to provide our community with so many great things. We are going to highlight 5 local businesses each week that have products and services they are still able to offer the community while we are all at home. Click on the businesses below to learn more about them.

Atlanta Specialized Care is providing a limited number of scholarships covering 100% of individual treatment costs for front line workers whose mental health has been impacted by their service during COVID-19. Interested parties should contact Tatiana Matthews.  Atlanta Specialized Care is located at 1730 Mount Vernon Road, Suite G in Dunwoody.  They can be reached at (770) 815-6853.

Sandy Springs Nothing Bundt Cakes located at 5975 Roswell Rd Suite A-103 has also made a lot of donations recently. They took cakes to the hospitals and to the popup pantry too. And those cakes are delicious and already made-to-go! Call them at (404) 236-2114.

Sips N Strokes (230 Hammond Drive Building #402 in Sandy Springs) has take-home painting kits and video tutorials. They have also made coloring sheets for families where you can scan the finished page back to them and they will send it to nursing homes.  Reach them at 404-272-0156.

Translation Station (in Chamblee)  has done wonders to immediately make the company 100% virtual so that the staff could keep jobs and so that they could continue to provide services.  Translation Station® has been providing a full range of top-quality language services to a diverse range of global clients in various fields, including law, medicine, social services, law enforcement, international businesses, marketing & public relations, industrial engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, and several other technical fields.  Translation Station is even working with a Ga Dept of Education language expert to see how to bring language programs to our schools for kids to form careers in more of a "trade school" manner than a 4-year degree. College is not for everyone and I love that there are other options.

The Sandy Springs Charter Middle School PTO found a way to help Sandy Springs Cluster Families get free groceries during the COVID-19 school shutdown crisis. They have set up a location near the school at a restaurant called Under the Tree located at 5600 Roswell Road NE #2 in Sandy Springs.  Reach them at (404) 228-7470.

Thank you to Atlanta Specialized Care, Sandy Springs Nothing Bundt Cakes, Sips N Strokes, Translation Station, and Under the Tree for being superstars and helping Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Chamblee, and Doraville during this time of need!
