Planned PEThood of Georgia Pet of the Week: Griffin

By Planned PEThood of Georgia July 16, 2020

Planned PEThood of Georgia is a non-profit organization. Their mission is to reduce the number of animals killed in the local shelters and to provide affordable services, not to make a profit. They keep overhead costs low in order to keep their prices affordable. Donations are welcome to assist with their efforts!

Griffin is a low maintenance easy-going guy. Loves head scratches and lazy days. He plays and snuggles on his terms but loves to see people. He loves the foster's 12-year-old daughter. He has severe allergies which is combated with a medication daily that is added to his food. He is FIV+ so he can't be on steroids. He enjoys watching birds and laying on the couch next to his person. Griffin wants to be the only furry king of the home. He loves the foster home's 12-year-old daughter and prefers a home with no small children.

His backstory: His head was wrapped in gauze and bandages, and they had been left on for far too long!!! We are unsure what the original injury was or who was trying to treat it. The bandages caused infection and skin/hair loss on his face. Griffin had come in with a bizarre mass on his head--which turned out to be an old, decaying bandage. Underneath it was a smelly, putrid infection caused by the bandage itself, resulting in the loss of a good bit of hair and skin on his head.

Griffin is negative FeLV, FIV positive, neutered, and up-to-date on vaccinations. The kitty has a microchip that will be transferred to the adopter upon completion of the adoption process. The adoption fee is $90.

If you would like to meet Griffin or have any questions, email.

Other animals are available for adoption through Planned PEThood of Georgia, a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal welfare organization in Duluth.
