Planned PEThood of Georgia Pet of the Week: Popeye

By Planned PEThood of Georgia August 19, 2020

Planned PEThood of Georgia
is a non-profit organization. Their mission is to reduce the number of animals killed in the local shelters and to provide affordable services, not to make a profit. They keep overhead costs low in order to keep their prices affordable. Donations are welcome to assist with their efforts!

Olive Oyl and her brother Popeye were rescued from a county shelter in rural GA. Both had untreated respiratory infections which resulted in each of them having an eye rupture, ouch! Luckily, we were able to help them and remove their eyes. Each kitten had an eye removed, so they have two eyes between the both of them. They get around wonderful though and have no special needs.

Popeye and Olive Oyl are healed up and ready to go to their new home! We are looking for a home that will keep this precious pair together. How many people get to have a brother and sister pair each with one eye???

Olive Oyl is your normal playful and curious kitten. Popeye is more chill and loves to snuggle. They both are sweet and purr machines. They also have been exposed to a 4-year-old girl in their foster home and do great with her.

We hope you and your family are ready to add this pair to your home, soon!

If you would like to meet Olivie Oyl and Popeye or know if they will be attending an adoption event this week, please contact the foster, Lauren Frost, or 770-364-9842.

Other animals are available for adoption through Planned PEThood of Georgia, a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal welfare organization in Duluth.

You can find Planned PEThood of Georgia, Petfinder page, HERE.  On Petfinder, you can find more information about the animals featured, or different kittens, cats, puppies, and dogs to bring home.

Planned PEThood of Georgia hosts adoption events each weekend at several locations. They are at the Petsmart in Johns Creek (corner of Medlock Bridge and McGinnis Ferry Roads) and also at the Petsmart in Lawrenceville (Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road) every Saturday starting at noon. They occasionally host adoption events at other locations. Please visit their Facebook Page or Website to see where they will be this weekend!

Ready to adopt this beauty? Please complete our online application here.  It will be reviewed and the foster will then contact you. (Alternatively, you can download and print the application and then scan it back to adoptions@pethoodga.org)
