Planned PEThood of Georgia Pet of the Week: Selina

By Planned PEThood of Georgia September 17, 2020

Planned PEThood of Georgia is a non-profit organization. Their mission is to reduce the number of animals killed in the local shelters and to provide affordable services, not to make a profit. They keep overhead costs low in order to keep their prices affordable. Donations are welcome to assist with their efforts!

Selina, along with her 5 kittens, were rescued from a hoarding situation where the conditions were deplorable. She is a sweet kitty who was a good mama to her babies. All the kittens have found a forever home, and now it is Selina's turn.

Selina greets me at the door of the cat room to say hello and wants to be petted. She has the cutest little meow. Now that the kittens are gone, she has discovered it is ok to play with toys and have fun. Her favorite spot is by the window where she can look outside. She is a little shy with strangers, but she should warm up once she is comfortable with her surroundings. Because of the stressful situation, she was in before being rescued, she lost some of her fur. Now that she feels safe, receives a healthy diet and good care, her fur has begun to grow back. She has a pretty black and silver coat with reddish tones when the light catches it. Although Selina is positive for FIV, she is otherwise healthy. FIV kitties can live a long and healthy life.

Selina is positive for FIV and negative for FeLV, spayed or neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. The kitty has a microchip that will be transferred to the adopter upon completion of the adoption process. The adoption fee is $90.00.

If you would like to meet Selina or know if s/he will be attending an adoption event this week, please contact the foster, Patti Pew, at 678-372-2494.

Other animals are available for adoption through Planned PEThood of Georgia, a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal welfare organization in Duluth.
