The coolest cat in children’s literature is back. “Pete the Cat” returns to the stage at the Center for Puppetry Arts Jan. 27–March 15, 2026, bringing his signature groove, upbeat music and beloved stories to life once again in this fan-favorite production. Based on the award-winning and New York Times best-selling book series by Eric Litwin, Kimberly and James Dean, “Pete the Cat” invites audiences to reconnect with Pete and his friends through a playful mix of puppetry, original songs and storytelling for all audiences.

Book Signing with James Dean
To celebrate Pete’s return, the Center for Puppetry Arts will welcome James Dean, co-creator and illustrator of “Pete the Cat” for a special Talk Back and Book Signing event Saturday, Jan. 31, after the 1 p.m. “Pete the Cat” performance. A separate book-signing add-on ticket is required in addition to the 1 p.m. performance ticket.

“Pete the Cat” follows Pete as he navigates everyday adventures with optimism, creativity and his trademark cool. Featuring the Center’s original puppetry and catchy music, the production celebrates curiosity, resilience and the joy of staying true to yourself, all hallmarks of the beloved book series.
