Commemorate 100 years of Black History Month

Free, family friendly event commemorates 100 years of Black History Month with live performances, vendors, art, and raffle prizes

Create Dunwoody will host its 2nd Annual Black History Cultural Celebration on Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Marriott Perimeter (246 Perimeter Center Pkwy NE, Dunwoody, GA 30346). This free, inclusive, family friendly community event honors 100 years of Black History Month with an afternoon of performances, cultural experiences, local vendors, and community connection.

The 2026 celebration will feature a dynamic lineup of performances, including dance showcases by Namari Dance Center, Georgia Dance Force, Moving in the Spirit, and Djoli Kelen Dancers. Attendees can also enjoy line dancing with instruction led by Rose Merry Brock, step dancing, and a Nigerian wear fashion show.

The event will be emceed by Ashli Lincoln of WSB TV and will include live art experiences, including live painting by Derek Cook, “Junkyard Chef,” caricature art by Cotton Studios, and featured art by Naomi Garcia.

A curated vendor marketplace will spotlight local businesses and community organizations, including: Sholizza Fashion, P Phasions Foundation, Regina’s Goodies, Tastee Spoon, Wholesum Juice Bar, Just Be Sassy and more. All attendees will be entered to win raffle items donated by vendors and sponsors.

Marriott Perimeter and Discover Dunwoody are proud partners and sponsors of the 2026 Black History Cultural Celebration, supporting Create Dunwoody’s mission to build community through arts and cultural programming.  Dunwoody High School’s Black Student Union will support the event as event volunteers.
