Description
The Peach State Chili Cookoff serves as the International Chili Society (ICS) Georgia State Championship. The winners in all 3 ICS categories (Chili, Chili Verde, Salsa) will advance to the World’s Championships in October 2017. For non-ICS members, the Peach State Chili Cookoff also features a People’s Choice competition. Home cooks, restaurants, and businesses are invited to bring their best homemade chili for a chance to win bragging rights for the state of Georgia for the entire year.
With over 50 different chilies available for tasting, the Peach State Chili Cookoff will also feature live music from Georgia’s own Carly Burruss in addition to other local acts, a kids area, arts and crafts vendors as well as local food trucks and vendors.
The Peach State Chili Cookoff is currently accepting registrations for Chili Cooks, who are invited to participate in either the ICS or People’s Choice competitions. Cooks can visit HERE and register their teams today.
The Gift of Adoption Fund is a national 501(c)3 that provides grants to qualified parents – giving children who need families a permanent home and a chance to thrive. The inaugural Peach State Chili Cookoff raised over $5,000 that helped provide a GoA grant for an Albany, Georgia family to complete their adoption of an 8-year old girl from China. The producers of the Peach State Chili Cookoff were also recipients of a GoA grant in 2011 during their adoption process. The GoA has set a goal of providing 500 grants (averaging $4,000) nationally by the year 2020.
