Gates will open onto International Plaza at 6 p.m.Description
The Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA) is moving its annual Fourth of July Celebration to International Plaza, the green space and surrounding areas located between Georgia World Congress Center Authority, Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Philips Arena. The change in venue is due to the current construction taking place in Centennial Park.
In partnership with event sponsor The Coca-Cola Company, visitors to the celebration can expect a fun-filled evening of music and entertainment and what is sure to be another spectacular fireworks show.
GWCCA has again partnered with WSB-TV, Channel 2, which will broadcast the fireworks live during its award-winning primetime special “Georgia Salutes America.” This program is a mix of music and special stories spotlighting the men and women who serve in our armed forces. Live coverage begins at 9 p.m. and will be hosted by Channel 2's Jovita Moore, anchor of Channel 2 Action News at 5, 6, and 11 p.m., and Channel 2's sports director Zach Klein.
The Georgia World Congress Center Authority is pleased to announce that platinum R&B vocal trio After 7 will headline this year’s Fourth of July celebration. The group features Kevon Edmonds and Melvin Edmonds and Keith Mitchell. The Edmonds brothers are the siblings of R&B singer-songwriter-producer Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. After 7 is best known for its chart-topping hits “Ready or Not” and “Can’t Stop.”
