Creating your own #BacktoSchool routine

By Geanine Petraglia July 30, 2016

Through the years I have learned my kids work better when they are on a scheduled routine, they like a plan and I can’t complain because so do I.

Which led me to a need to create a daily routine chart.  Of course it doesn’t cover everything however it does cover the basics, which will keep us on schedule and aid us in kicking off Back to School smoothly.

For the routine schedule we wanted something that allowed us to walk around and check off in the moment but also the ability to hang on the wall once the tasks have been complete.  We started with a clipboard we purchased at Staples.

JD painted it himself, his favorite color of course, we then added some back to school ribbon and stickers to keep us motivated.
While the paint dried JD & I created an Excel spreadsheet with tasks the two of us decided on together.

To avoid having to reprint the daily routine, we laminated the schedule and plan to use a dry erase marker to check off tasks.

JD also made this one, much more frills and flowers, for his very girly Diva best friend.

Initially I am sure JD will fight me in the am with the routine we decided on.  However, I am certain once we get back into the swing of things we will be able to complete the routine without walking around clipboard in hand. I am also positive having the same routine every evening will help JD wind down before bed, much easier then he has most summer nights.

The busier our daily life is, the more we will benefit from our routine. Feel free to comment here s and we will be sure to send the form along to you, of course it is tweakable!
