Review: BurgerFi at Emory Point

By Diana Cole July 13, 2013
This past weekend, my family and I had the pleasure of eating at BurgerFi at Emory Point.   I was a little scared to eat a burger there due to my recent gastric sleeve surgery.   I looked at the menu and there were lots of healthy options.
When my husband and I got to the restaurant, we noticed the beautiful Atlanta skyline from the outdoor area.   We didn’t eat outside unfortunately due to the insane amount of rain we have had.   My three kids ordered the single burger with cheese and bacon.   They decided to share a large basket of fries.   Then the kids ran over to the Coke Freestyle Machine for drinks.   My husband and I both got their best seller: the BurgerFi cheeseburger with hickory bacon.   Instead of a potato bun, I had mine “green style” (lettuce).  We both got their BurgerFi sauce on the side.   We also ordered the Cry and Fries (onion rings and fries).  My husband got the Terrapin Hopsecutioner Beer.
Joe Tuma, the franchisee owner sat down with us and explained that the meat was all natural from Meyer Company Ranch.    The cows are raised with no hormones, no steroids, and no antibiotics.   They are also Grass and Vegetarian Fed.  The fries and onion rings are hand cut and cooked in peanut oil.  BurgerFi goes through a special process to remove as much starch as possible from the fries.    He went onto explain that the entire menu is All Natural.  Joe also explained to us that the restaurant is Earth Craft Certified.   The wood that was used on the walls was from within 200 miles of Atlanta.  And for all the trees that were cut down, 5 trees were planted in their place.   The furniture was made from recycled materials: reclaimed wood, the chairs were created from recycled coke bottles, the furniture outside from milk cartons.   The paint is all VOC certified.   All of the wine and beer is locally made.
Our food came after seven or eight minutes after ordering.

Now you realize that I haven’t had anything fried in months.  I took one French fry.   It tasted liked hot fried mashed potatoes.  It was delicious.   The onion rings were the BEST I ever had.   The onion did not come out of the fry, like you usually get.   I would have eaten all 3 if I could.   I only had half an onion ring.   My nine year old son described the French fries and onion rings “like your taste buds were going on a journey though happy town.”   All of the burgers are hand packed.   I grabbed a fork and knife thinking that I would have to eat my lettuce wrapped burger that way, but it was bulky enough for me to eat it like a burger.   My husband said “the burgers were excellent.   Good texture on bun.  High quality meat, angus beef used.”    My eight year old daughter said “she has no words to describe the deliciousness of the burger.” Mr. Tuma went on to tell us that there are two sets of quality control, one on the line and the other right before the food is served.   He also stated that the burgers wait for the fries, because we all know that the first thing a person grabs is the French fry.

My kids were then treated for custard.  Being a Jersey girl, I was excited for them.  They all got either vanilla or chocolate on a waffle cone with various toppings.  My son never having custard before, said he likes it better than ice cream.  And it was really good.   A man of few words.

I would highly recommend you go to BurgerFi at Emory Point located at 1540 Avenue Place Atlanta, GA 30329.  Use the address of 1600 Clifton Road 30333 (Center for Disease Control) on your GPS.  You can get high quality food at a reasonable price.   Hours are Sunday – Thursday 11 am-11 pm, and Friday – Saturday 11 am -1230 am.   There is also free parking in the garage.   You can find BurgerFi at Emory Point on Facebook and Instagram.
These opinions are my own, but Mr. Joe Tuma paid for our meal.
