The other day I was invited to go to The Main Event.  My opinions are my own though.

The Main Event is the ultimate FUN destination for people of all ages. The rapidly expanding Dallas-based company operates high-volume family entertainment centers throughout the US ranging in size from 45,000 to 75,000 square feet. A subsidiary of Ardent Leisure Group of Australia, Main Event offers a unique “Eat.Bowl.Play.” experience featuring state-of-the-art bowling, multi-level laser tag, thrilling high ropes adventure courses, captivating game rooms, stylish billiards, energetic bars and high-quality restaurants. Consistently voted as “Best Place to Bowl” and “Best Party Place” in the markets where it operates, Main Event has been described by industry analysts as “unrivaled in quality”.

When I arrived, I walked into a HUGE lobby where I saw a private reception room, restaurant, bar, billiards, laser tag, bowling, arcade and gravity ropes all from my view point.  My 10-year-old son was with his friends, so I only had my 9 and 6-year-old girls with me.

My 6-year-old gravitated to the arcade.  My 9-year-old is more adventurous, she wanted to go the gravity ropes.   I signed her in and after being given shoes and complimentary socks, she was assigned to come back at a later time.   My husband thankfully got there in time to take her on the ropes.  He stated it was a challenging test to your balance and agility.  You were tethered to the ropes above, so he felt not only safe, but that our daughter was safe as well.  There were employees there specifically trained to work the ropes too.  My daughter loved the “monkey” section where you swing like you are a monkey from vine to vine.

The arcade games were challenging to my 6-year-old.   She loved the North Pole game.   There was even a game we played that took a picture of us and will eventually be linked to social media, so you will be able to play against people from all over the world.  Neat, huh?

We didn’t bowl, but I was told that they have the newest software related to bowling where you can compete against the lane next to you. You can build mountains and archery too. It’s not just your average bowling alley.

We also participated in the laser tag. My 6-year-old was to short to participate, so only my older daughter and I played. There was a lot of hiding places and it was challenging. You need to hold onto the barrel of the gun while pulling the trigger to shoot. My daughter didn’t get you needed to hide and wanted to move around. But we had fun.

While my daughter and I played on laser tag, my husband and my 6-year-old played on the floor. There was an interactive floor that changed scenes. My daughter pretended to be a frog, car and played the piano (like from the movie Big).
