Preschool is your child's first step on their educational journey. As a parent, one of the most important decisions you will make is choosing the right preschool to ensure your child transitions safely and happily into a formal learning environment. The Weinstein School at the MJCCA provides a warm, nurturing educational environment that is infused with the richness of Jewish values and customs. By choosing The Weinstein School, you are giving your child a lifelong gift—a solid foundation for a successful educational journey. We embrace families from all backgrounds and cultivate a connection to Jewish values and tradition. While there are many Atlanta preschools to choose from, The Weinstein School is recognized as one of the best, and is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
To enhance the learning environment even more, the MJCCA will soon embark upon renovations to The Weinstein School. These renovations include the creation of a dedicated infant and toddler wing with state-of-the-art classrooms that will offer many conveniences, amenities, and the space students need to thrive.

Plans also include dedicated space to enable teachers to provide even more in-depth and hands-on art and music instruction, including an Art Studio where students can draw, paint, sculpt, and work with mixed media to encourage the development of creativity, critical thinking, and fine motor skills. With an array of instruments and equipment, a new Music Room will encourage children to appreciate music as they clap, sing, dance, and play, while a Sensory Room will help with the development of gross and fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, language, and social skills as children touch, feel, and explore in a soothing environment.
The improvements complement The Weinstein School’s environment—one that offers opportunities for children to learn, grow, and explore their curiosity. In fact, we view children as competent individuals and encourage their self-expression and creative thinking, while we also honor the collaboration between children, families, and educators to foster a creative learning environment.
Our environment is warm, welcoming, and fosters children's abilities to make choices, solve problems, master skills, and develop important relationships. Observing children in action and documenting their ideas is a valued and critical component of our program. Documentation provides opportunities for teachers to capture children's thoughts and ideas, to revisit their conclusions, and reflect on their experiences. It also provides parents with key insights into their child's creative expression and deductive reasoning.

The preschool benefits from the 52-acre educational and recreational facilities of the MJCCA in Dunwoody, including state-of-the-art, age-appropriate playgrounds, ball fields, tennis courts, and gymnasiums for creative play, sports, and the development of gross motor skills. Preschoolers at The Weinstein School enjoy year-round, supervised swim lessons in our indoor and outdoor pools, while wooded nature trails and our beautiful, serene lake offer opportunities exploring nature, hiking, fishing, and boating. Students also experience hands-on learning in our one-of-a-kind, interactive Sophie Hirsh Srochi Discovery Center. Parents and other family members also enjoy use of these amenities as well as the Fitness Center, sports leagues, classes, and arts and culture programs.

The Weinstein School encourages all families to become part of our preschool family. We invite parents to join us to see the laughter, learning, and love happening every day, such as our heartwarming and musical Shabbat Sing, each Friday. Shabbat Sing is open to all, and is a wonderful way to experience the warmth and spirit of our school.

Other family events include VIP Day, during which the Very Important People in each child’s life are invited to join the children for a morning filled with Shabbat Sing, classroom activity, and snack time. Throughout the year, our preschool hosts many other special events that are made even more special when our families join us—from Bagels on Blankets and Popsicles on the Playground to family Shabbat dinners and Havdalah celebrations.
