Heritage Kids Summer Day Camp Has Something for Everyone!

June 8-12, June 22-26, July 13-17

By Heritage Sandy Springs Museum & Park. February 24, 2020
In alignment with recommendations from public health officials to reduce gatherings of large groups related to the COVID- 19 pandemic, all events, and in-person programs are suspended until further notice. We will update the community on any changes as soon as we are able.

Our new Heritage Kids Summer Camp is debuting this summer 2020! Our co-ed, STEAM-based camp blends science projects, arts and crafts, history-themed activities, and outdoor adventures to create a fun-filled camp experience that entertains and enriches. Through games, historic simulations, special guests, crafts, and hands-on activities, campers will explore nature and gardening, local and Georgia history, and a variety of artistic media.

Heritage Kids Summer Camp is for boys and girls ages 5-11.

  • Eco Explorers campers will explore the agricultural history of Sandy Springs through outdoor activities, and hands-on gardening with special guests from the Sandy Springs Garden Club. Campers will get their hands dirty as they experience horticulture, learn about local ecosystems, discover how the PH of soil affects plant growth, make terrariums, craft bird- feeders, and more! Explore nature with us on June 8-12.
  • Pioneers of the Past campers will learn all about various aspects of local and Georgia history through games, crafts, projects and performances. Learn how to write your name using the Cherokee alphabet, create red Georgia clay pinch pots, explore pioneer life by making your own hardtack and dipping your own candles, pan for gold like a prospector, and even build your own railroad! Discover the past with us on June 22-26.
  • Art Adventures campers will investigate local folk artists, practice plein air painting, make sculptures out of recycled materials, and create new works of art with chalk and tie-dye. Campers will also explore the performing arts through theatre, music and dance. Create with us on July 13-17.

We blend science experiments, arts and crafts, history-themed activities, and outdoor adventures to spark curiosity about our community and have a lot of fun in the process,” says Education Manager Stephanie Lloyd.

Heritage Kids Summer Day Camp is Monday - Friday from 9:30 am- 3:30 pm,
