Review: Despicable Me 2

By Eric Cole (My husband) July 6, 2013
I was unable to attend the preview of Despicable Me 2 due to a scheduling conflct.  So my husband bravely took my three kids.  There was lost glasses and a dying battery. ~ Diana

Despicable Me 2 was an entertaining animated hero-villain type movie.  The main character Gru (Steve Carell) was a long-time villain who turned good running his own Jelly Factory and being a Foster Father of three girls.  However, an old nemesis of Gru emerged named El Macho.  He developed a serum that turned the little minions into small purple monsters.  Gru was recruited to be a detective to put a stop to the madness.  He recognized El Macho right away while others doubted his instincts.  Only his spy partner Lucy believed his suspicions.  It was up to Gru and Lucy to put El Macho back in his place.
Gru turning from bad to good entertained my oldest son while he found the three foster girls to be ugly making him laugh every time he saw them.  My daughters enjoyed the movie adoring Gru and his newfound relationship with Lucy.  Although, my youngest daughter found the purple monsters to be scary and didn’t want to watch while they were on screen.
Despicable Me 2 is a fun movie to watch and a great night out for any family.  It always makes for an entertaining movie when the hero prevails over the villain.
