Mr. Peabody, the most accomplished dog in the world, and his mischievous boy Sherman, use their time machine - the WABAC (Wayback Machine) - to go on the most outrageous adventures known to man or dog. But when Sherman takes the WABAC out for a joyride to impress his friend Penny, they accidentally rip a hole in the universe, wreaking havoc on the most important events in world history. Before they forever alter the past, present and future, Mr. Peabody must come to their rescue, ultimately facing the most daunting challenge of any era: figuring out how to be a parent. Together, the time traveling trio will make their mark on history.

Unfortunately, we got hit in Atlanta’s traffic so we missed the first twenty minutes of the movie. So I missed the back story of how Mr. Peabody (dog) has a son named Sherman (human).

However I will tell you the movie was just amazing. As a mother of 3 elementary school aged kids (4th, 3rd, and Kindergarten) there was something for all them and myself to enjoy. As you know that is quite a difficult feat. For the parents, there was jokes that went over the kid’s heads. For the boys, there is potty humor (Trojan horse). For the girls, there is the “love story”. As a parent, I loved how the movie was teaching the kids history in a fun, way. Yes, there was talks of King Tut on the way home. I really didn’t want to talk about the “after life”. But there was conversation, again hard to do with a 10 year old boy. There was a scary part, but it lasted only a few seconds. My kid’s all loved the movie and learned about world history. I highly recommend the movie! I would also recommend that after the movie comes out on DVD, that all schools purchase it.

I was given tickets to see Mr. Peabody & Sherman for the purpose of review, my opinions are my own though.
