Sandwich Skewers

By Heather Wirtz September 15, 2016
Add some fun to a traditional sandwich! Simply grab a skewer and choose your favorite bread, meats, cheeses and veggies. My kiddos loved helping with these creations and couldn't wait to eat! Sandwich Skewers are great as a quick dinner and perfect for parties and picnics too!

Suggestions of what to use:
Bread or sandwich rolls, cut into bite sized pieces
Sliced turkey
Sliced ham
Pepperoni
Bacon, cooked
Sliced or cubed cheese
Tomatoes
Lettuce
Olives
Pickles
Grapes
Wooden or metal skewers

Condiments for dipping:
Mustard
Mayonnaise

Directions:
  1. Cut, cube or slice all ingredients so they are easy to place onto a skewer.
  2. Start with bread, slide a piece to the end of the skewer and then continue to build your sandwich. For example - bread, turkey, cheese, lettuce, tomato and then repeat, starting with bread again until the skewer is full. If you have trouble keeping the bread on the end of the skewer, use a grape, olive or pickle to secure each end.
  3. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve sandwich skewers with your favorite condiments for dipping.
