Dunwoody School for the Arts

Join the Dunwoody School for the Arts family today. We offer private music and voice lessons and classes for all ages.  Our teachers are highly experienced, trained and motivated.  They incorporate creative techniques and curriculum to develop their student’s skills and to encourage their student’s love of music.

Private Music Instruction
Students may select a private voice, piano, guitar, bass guitar, trumpet, saxophone, flute, clarinet, and oboe and/or drum lessons.  In addition to private lessons, we offer group classes: Recreational Music Making for adults, Preschool Piano and Little Maestro's music and theory, for our youngest music lovers.





Dance Classes
Dance at DSA addresses the need to move! We emphasize the developmental stages, focusing on body awareness, synchronized movement, spatial exploration, group dances and expressive movement. Please know that our classes are opened to all children. For our Ballet, Hip Hop and Creative Movement classes, all of the above-mentioned elements of dance culminates in our year-end recital which is a very special time for dancers and families alike.  

We offer the following dance classes:

Creative Movement (3–5 yrs)
Ballet I (5–7 yrs) and II (7-9 yrs)
Beginning Combo (4-6 yrs)
Combo I (6–7 yrs)
Combo II (8 yrs)
Combo  III/IV Ballet, Tap and or Jazz (8+ yrs)
Combo V/VI Advanced Ballet and Jazz Combo (10+ yrs)
Hip Hop I (at least 5 yrs)
Advanced Hip Hop and Jazz Combo (Middle School)

Throughout the year we also offer Mommy and Me Dance Classes, Adult Tap and Jazz.




Drama
DSA is also your go-to place for Drama class!  This fall we will be offering the class, So You Think Want to Be in a Play?  This class runs for 12 weeks and is designed to help young people sharpen their acting skills, learn about all things theater, understand the audition process as well try their hand at improvisation. No prior acting or theater experience is required. Students will work on an original play called “Noel Motel”, which will be performed at the end of the session for family and friends.

Beyond Music Making
Music Theory 101 and 102 and Audio Tech 101 are wonderful classes available at DSA for the student who wants to dive deeper into the language of music or learn about live sound and the production side of music-making.  Both classes are taught by working musicians or tech production specialists.
