Experience a world of WOW at Fernbank, Atlanta’s Science and Nature Experience on Saturday, September 28, from 10 am – 1 pm!

Fernbank invites educators to enjoy a FREE day featuring:

  • Complimentary admission to Fernbank for educators and one guest*
  • Discounts for additional guests
  • Free screening of Volcanoes: The Fires of Creation 3D or Apollo 11: First Steps Edition 2D on the 4-story giant screen**
  • Traveling the Silk Road opening-day festivities, including hands-on activities and a live camel
  • New STEM exhibit, Fantastic Forces
  • Nature explorations and outdoor exhibits in WildWoods and Fernbank Forest
  • VIP Educators’ Lounge

Fernbank Experiences
10am – 5pm, Museum-wide
Explore three floors of indoor exhibits and 75 acres outdoor nature adventures at your own pace, including the new special exhibit, Traveling the Silk Road and the new permanent STEM exhibit, Fantastic Forces.

Traveling the Silk Road Opening Day Celebration
10 am – 1 pm, Great Hall
Join the festivities as we celebrate the new exhibit, Traveling the Silk Road with hands-on activities, including the chance to meet a live camel. Learn more.

VIP Educators’ Lounge
10 am – 1 pm, Conference Rooms
Meet Fernbank’s education team to learn about Fernbank Field Trip options. Enjoy giveaways, fun interactive activities and light snacks. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about fun ways to engage your students through a Fernbank Field Trip.

Giant Screen Movie
Times Vary
Experience volcanoes from the Earth’s beginnings through modern day to learn how they create nutrient-rich soils and diverse ecosystems in Volcanoes: The Fires of Creation 3D at 10 am or 12 pm. Celebrate NASA’s triumphant mission to take humankind’s first steps on the moon in Apollo 11: First Steps Edition 2D at 1 pm. Space is limited and available on first-come, first-served basis.**

Advanced Registration Required at Fernbank Museum of Natural History FREE for educators, but space is limited and reservations are required. 

*Free admission is offered with school ID only. Educators are invited to save $5 on museum tickets for additional guests by asking for the Edu-M-$5 discount at check-in. Those guests may add a movie for only $7. Discount valid for up to 4 people on 9/28/19. (Guest(s) must accompany educator during check-in.)

**Limited seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Free movie for educator and one guest offered during the 10 am, 12 pm and 1 pm showtimes only. Limited to one movie showtime per educator.

Fernbank Museum of Natural History General admission, including all exhibitions, WildWoods and Fernbank Forest as low as $18. Add a 3D giant screen movie as low as $23.
