I love surprising my kids with fun, healthy, and cute breakfasts for holidays like Valentine's Day! A heart-shaped breakfast is an easy way to say "I love you." It's a hit at my house every Valentine's Day -- and it's easy to make. Here are two ways to surprise your family with a Valentine-inspired breakfast:

Heart-shaped scrambled eggs and toast

Serves 2

What you need:

  • 4 eggs
  • 4 slices of bread
  • Heart-shaped sprinkles

Directions:

  1. Scramble the eggs in a pan over medium heat. (I let them cook, then flip omelet style so they're flat).
  2. Lightly toast and butter the bread, then cut into a heart shape by cutting the bottom corners off at an angle. Set aside.
  3. When the eggs are done, remove from the stove and cut four hearts out with the cookie cutter.
  4. Plate the eggs and toast and serve with a few heart-shaped sprinkles for a cute pop of color!

Eggs Inside the Heart Toast

Serves 2

What you need:

  • 4 eggs
  • 4 slices of bread
  • Heart-shaped sprinkles
  • Heart-shaped cookie cutter

Directions:

  1. Butter both sides of the bread and then cut a heart shape out with the cookie cutter.
  2. Place the bread in the pan and drop an egg into the heart-shaped hole.
  3. Let the egg cook and brown the bread on the first side, then flip to cook the other side.
  4. Plate so that the side with the best looking heart is up and include a few heart-shaped sprinkles for a fun pop of color!
