By Diana Friedman Cole, Owner Publisher Editor Sandy Springs Dunwoody Macaroni Kid April 30, 2020

It's no secret that with the regulations we currently have to follow, small businesses all across our country are struggling. We appreciate the small businesses here in Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Chamblee, and Doraville who continue to provide our community with so many great things. We are going to highlight 5 local businesses each week that have products and services they are still able to offer the community while we are all at home. Click on the businesses below to learn more about them.

Back to Back Chiropractic located at 1705 Mt Vernon Rd Suite A in Dunwoody is a drop-off center For those still wishing to do something to support families in need in the Doraville community hard hit by job loss. The next drive is clothing and housewares drive. Specifically new or gently used children's clothing. Shoes (adults or children in good shape). Gently used towels. washcloths, sheets, bed sets.

Big Frog Custom T-Shirts & More of Dunwoody located at 1400 Dunwoody Village Parkway has printed face mask templates on t-shirts for locals who will volunteer to sew. The masks are not medical grade, but they provide about 50-75% efficacy of slowing the COVID-19 virus among other benefits.

Chamblee Ace Hardware hired people when others were laying off people.  When everyone has been panicking about hand sanitizer and wipes, they have been communicating with the local neighborhoods to let them know how to get them.  They were one of the first to start the curbside pickup. Chamblee Ace Hardware is located at 5446 Peachtree Boulevard.

Pet Wants Sandy Springs is currently partnering with the Atlanta Humane Society and asking customers to help collect food by buying a pound of food or an additional pound of food when they place their delivery order. Pet Wants Sandy Springs will then match that extra pound of food with their own donation and add both pounds to the amount being given to the rescue.

The Sandy Springs Charter Middle School PTO found a way to help Sandy Springs Cluster Families get free groceries during the COVID-19 school shutdown crisis. They have set up a location near the school at a restaurant called Samad Mediterranean Grill and Market located at 8897 Roswell Road in Sandy Springs.
