Don't miss the Alliance Theatre's drive-in production of the holiday classic A Christmas Carol: The Live Radio Play. Experience all of the magic of a drive-in while live actors retell the beloved holiday story. JINGLE! Hear the bells jingle on the streets of Victorian England as you're transported back in time with Ebenezer Scrooge, Marley, and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. JANGLE! Watch and listen to how a sound effect artist creates the jangling of Marley's chains in real-time with the story. DASH! Load up your sleigh (or car) in front of our drive-in theatre stage and big screen for a Christmas Carol experience you will never forget!

From December 4 – 23, 2020, the Summerhill Lots at Georgia State University’s Center Parc Credit Union Stadium will transform into a drive-in theater, with a stage for live actors and big screens providing a live concert-style experience.  Capacity will be limited to allow for distance between cars.  Audience members may enjoy the outdoor space beside their car if they wish.  Masks will be required for anyone who is outside of their vehicle.  Learn more about our safety procedures here.

Mobile ordering is available from the great local Summerhill restaurants along Georgia Ave. Please visit the Summerhill Restaurant Guide for more information on the menu and ordering.  Attendees may also bring their own food & beverage if desired.

Safety for our patrons, artists and staff, is the Alliance Theatre's top priority. Here are a few ways they have redesigned the experience with safety in mind:

  • Outdoors – open-air performances help reduce the chance of spread.
  • Social distancing – cars will be parked at a minimum of one car space apart and patrons will be encouraged to remain at 6+ feet apart whenever they are not in their vehicles
  • Face coverings – All patrons and staff will be required to wear a mask when not in vehicles.
  • Reduced contact – Ticket scanning will be contactless and staff will be equipped with masks and gloves.

A Christmas Carol: The Live Radio Play starts at 7 pm from December 4 – 23, 2020,.  No Shows on Monday.

The production is taking place in Atlanta’s Summerhill neighborhood in the parking lot of Georgia State University’s Center Parc Credit Union Stadium (formerly the Gold Lot at Turner Field). For GPS, use the street address: 18 Georgia Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30315.

Tickets for the general public are on sale at the Alliance Theatre. General admission tickets start at $50 per car. Vehicles may hold a maximum of 6 passengers. The production will also be available to stream on Alliance Theatre Anywhere beginning in early December.  The stream will cost $20.
