Planned PEThood of Georgia Pet of the Week: Missy (aka Chonky Monkey)

By Planned PEThood of Georgia May 21, 2020

Planned PEThood of Georgia is a non-profit organization. Their mission is to reduce the number of animals killed in the local shelters and to provide affordable services, not to make a profit. They keep overhead costs low in order to keep their prices affordable. Donations are welcome to assist with their efforts!

For many of the pets we rescue, we don't know their past. That is not true with Missy! Missy has had a comfortable life filled with security and love until recently. Her human Mama is an older lady who rescued her from outside as a small kitten. Missy has lived all indoors with several other cats pretty much all of her life (since she was a kitten).

Missy - also known as Chunky Monkey - is a 7-year-old girl who is a real people cat! Missy was a bottle-fed baby who was raised, loved, and lived with her first human Mama for her first 7 years 100% indoors. Missy lived with 4 other cats in her original home. They were split up when their human Mama had to go to a senior living home.

Missy was adopted early this year but returned when this home did not work out for her. She did not seem to have the patience needed for the toddler in that home.

Missy loves to be with her person/people! She enjoys being brushed, sleeping in bed, and being high in a cat tree. She is a social girl with a funny personality!
She has lived with other cats, but tends to want to be the boss and may even enjoy being an only pet. Missy does not care for dogs at all.

She is also a BIG girl! she weighed 20 pounds when she came to our rescue but has been dieting and is down to 17.7 pounds! Way to go, Missy!

Missy is negative for FIV/FeLV, spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations. She has a microchip that will be transferred to the adopter upon completion of the adoption process. The adoption fee is $75.00.

Please contact Missy's foster, Tish, at 678-938-0020 (text is best).

Other animals are available for adoption through Planned PEThood of Georgia, a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal welfare organization in Duluth.
